We already live together and don't need household goods like appliances and cutlery. No wedding gifts are needed and our recommendation is not to bring one.
However, it has become clear that some people don't like this approach. We've attempted to come up with a solution that won't result in us getting unneeded things and where people who feel compelled to give gifts can do so in a way that will be useful and appreciated.
We are planning on going on a honeymoon to Italy sometime later in 2015, likely in late summer. Since the honeymoon will not be right after the wedding we do not need to have all of the logistics and tickets figured out by the wedding.
Our registry is on honeyfund.com and includes things that we are certain we'll want to do on our honeymoon in Italy. Some of these are small things that you could pay for in their entirety, while others are smaller portions of more expensive things we'll need like airfare. There's way more on the list than we expect to receive gifts for a broader selection. Don't worry about getting us one of something their are multiples of; even if nobody else gets the others, these are things we're planning on doing so that will still be hepful.
If you'd like to sponsor a portion of our honeymoon, please feel free to get us anything in the registry. It works similar to giving money except that you're choosing what we'll spend it on.
There are some things we expect to need on our honeymoon but which aren't on the list. For the most part this has to do with our plans still being in the early stages. We know several of the main cities we'll be going to, but there are others that are still up in the air as we narrow down our options; for example, we'll go to some but not all of: Padua, Verona, Siena, Sicily, and others. We also generally haven't included where we're staying with a night at Villa Cipressi being a rare exception. For cities with lots of options, where we stay and how much it costs will depend on a number of factors including whether Ginger is still working at the Sheraton and whether any of the related hotels have employee discounts available on the days we travel. So, we have tried to include only things we're sure we want to do and where changes in our plans should not change.
